Going it alone on digital taxation

The National Taxpayers Union will put out a report later this morning that harshly criticizes the IRS for its handling of private conservation easements, which allow owners of large properties to claim an income tax deduction if they set aside land for conservation. The report contends that the Treasury Department and the IRS “impose massive compliance burdens,” including on property valuations and easement qualifications, among other criticisms.
