Partnership for Conservation (P4C) Applauds Senator Portman

Partnership for Conservation (P4C) applauds Senator Portman for calling for long overdue sample deed language for conservation easements from the IRS. The National Taxpayer Advocate has also repeatedly recommended the agency enact policies that would make compliance simpler and easier to understand with clear language for conservation easement deeds.  P4C also appreciates that Senator Portman has called for giving taxpayers the opportunity to come into compliance after this guidance has been issued.  This common sense solution can keep well-intentioned conservationists out of court and save taxpayers tremendous resources in unnecessary litigation. We hope the IRS will take these calls for action seriously for the benefit of taxpayers, the government and overall conservation efforts.
